It may be quiet here. .
Yesterday I took my mom to the emergency room. After a couple tests and consultations, the doctor told us that she probably has pancreatic cancer. The prognosis is bad. It's not very treatable and she probably has a year at the most.

There are still a couple diagnostic procedures to make sure that's what it is. Then they will do what they can to make her comfortable.

From the National Cancer Institute:
"Carcinoma of the pancreas has markedly increased incidence over the past several decades, and ranks as the fourth leading cuase of cancer death in the United States."

She is really sad. She has things she still wants to do. Over the last 10 years she has taken care of my father who had Alzheimer's disease. He died last July 4th. Now is her turn to do some of the things she had put off.

Her family will make sure that she has a chance to do as many of those things as she can do.
